![]() ![]() Many soon added it to the ranks of LucasArts’s most hallowed classics. This interactive biker movie had a personality very much its own. Yet it wasn’t just a retread of what had come before. ![]() One of the two games they released that year, Day of the Tentacle, was the veritable Platonic ideal of a cartoon-comedy graphic adventure the other, Sam and Max Hit the Road, was merely very, very good.įollowing a quiet 1994 on the adventure front, LucasArts came roaring back in the spring of 1995 with Full Throttle, a game that seemed to have everything going for it: it was helmed by Tim Schafer, one of the two lead designers from Day of the Tentacle, and boasted many familiar names on the art and sound front as well. Just shows how excellent the rest of his and his team's catalogue is.The adventure makers at LucasArts had a banner 1993. So it may be my least favorite Tim Schafer game, yet it's still great. Thankfully, the irritating fights can be skiped as well by simply pressing Shift and V at the same time. ![]() The game is very atmospheric, characters are very likeable, the new interface is a real joy to use, and the Heavy Metal and Country songs are just awesome. But the game has much more good than bad. And the dialogue, which is mostly very good, has some weak flat moments. Full Throttle's poorly controlled and over used action sequences frustrate much more than they entertain. My least favorite of Tim Schafer's games. ![]() Since this is a game about bikers, there's also many action sequences where the player fights off other motorists on the highway. The player simply points at an object, holds the left mouse button and selects from 4 icons what action to take. Full Throttle is the first game to use the new and improved SCUMM engine. The player has clear Ben's name, and find the real murderer, and as goes with biker tradition: make him pay. Ben is framed for murdering the president of the Corley Motors company. The player takes control of Polecats motorcycle gang leader Ben. Unlike most Schafer written games, Full Throttle is a thriller and not a comedy, though it has its funny moments. Full Throttle is a point & click adventure game developed by LucasArts, the game was released in 1995, and is Tim Schafer's first game in which he was the sole director. ![]()
